I am crushing on this girl I really like, so I asked this 'Friend' of mine for advice and if he thinks she likes me back. He told me to give up on her and that I do not stand a chance. Later on that same week he asked her out himself. Thankfully she turned him down. but I sincerely thought he was my friend only to find out he was trying to hit on her himself.

The good news is that this girl and I are now very close and I wold be asking her out this weekend (if I do not chicken out)

Unfortunately you find "friends" that try to take advantage of you vulnerability. But the good thing is that in your case it back fired for him. I wish you all the luck for this weekend
